Etymology

Gr. n. mukes – fungus, Gr. neut. n. plasma – anything formed, N.L. neut. n. Mycoplasma – fungus form; N.L. n. argininum – arginine, N.L. gen. n. arginini – of arginine (referring to its hydrolysis)
