Etymology
Gr. n. mukes – fungus, Gr. neut. n. plasma – formed, N.L. neut. n. Mycoplasma – fungus form; Gr. neut. n. haema, haematos – blood, L. masc. adj. minutus – little, N.L. neut. adj. haemominutum – a small organism from blood (corrected by Oren et al., 2020)
